This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows a studio portrait of Zhan Shichai, known as "Chang the Chinese Giant," standing next to a seated woman. Both are dressed in traditional Qing dynasty attire. Zhan Shichai (c. 1841–1893) was a celebrity who toured the world in the 19th century, famously appearing in P.T. Barnum's shows. He was reportedly one of the tallest men in the world during his lifetime.
