Temple Dendur Egypt Ruins Columns Hieroglyphs Architecture Vtg. Photo 19thC.

This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows the entrance to the ancient Temple of Dendur in its original location in Nubia, Egypt. The photograph captures the detailed hieroglyphic carvings, large columns, and the state of the ruins in the mid-19th century. This Roman-Egyptian temple was completed by 10 BC and was dedicated to the goddess Isis. It was gifted to the United States in 1965 and is now on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
