Tangier Morocco Governor's Procession Mosque Crowd Tents Vtg. Photo 20thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows a large procession of people in Tangier, Morocco, as the governor makes his way to the mosque. The scene is filled with a crowd of men, many armed with rifles, alongside individuals on horseback, with a camp of tents visible in the background. Tangier's strategic location on the Strait of Gibraltar made it a historically significant international city, and such official processions were important displays of authority and local custom.
