Seattle Cherry Street Cityscape Buildings Cars Pedestrians Vtg. Photo 20thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows a view looking down a steep Cherry Street in Seattle, flanked by tall buildings with early automobiles and pedestrians below. This photo captures the city after the massive regrading projects of the early 20th century, which leveled many of Seattle's hills to make the land more suitable for commercial development. The steep grade of the street is a testament to the city's challenging original topography.
