This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows a crowded beach scene at the seaside resort of Ostend, Belgium. People in Victorian attire relax on the sand, some with umbrellas, while a long row of bathing machines lines the background. Known as the 'Queen of the Belgian sea-side resorts,' Ostend was a highly fashionable destination for European royalty and the upper class during the late 19th century.
