France Indoor Swimming Pool Bathers Men Swimsuits Slide Fun Vtg. Photo 19thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows men in old-fashioned swimsuits enjoying an indoor swimming pool in France. Some are in the water, while others are on a water slide. Indoor swimming pools, or 'piscines', became popular in France in the late 19th century, often as part of larger bathhouse complexes that promoted health and hygiene. These establishments were social hubs as well as places for recreation and exercise.
