2nd Cataract River Nile Aswan Egypt Men Bathing Rapids Vtg. Photo 19thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows three men are seen wading in the fast-flowing waters of the Second Cataract on the River Nile, near Aswan, Egypt. The cataracts of the Nile were shallow lengths of the river where the surface was broken by many small boulders and stones. The Second Cataract was largely submerged in Lake Nasser after the construction of the Aswan High Dam.
