Zurich Stadtheater Switzerland Opera House Architecture Vtg. Photo 19thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows the grand facade of the Stadttheater, now the Zurich Opera House, is shown shortly after its construction. This Neo-Baroque masterpiece, designed by Viennese architects Fellner & Helmer, was inaugurated in 1891. It was built on the site of the former Aktientheater, which had burned down. The photograph captures the building and the surrounding square, which has since been significantly redeveloped.
