Zangaki Studio Cairo Egypt Horse Carriage Footmen Palm Trees Vtg. Photo 19thC.

This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows two barefoot footmen, known as sais, running ahead of a horse-drawn carriage in Cairo, Egypt. The carriage is driven by a man in a fez and pulled by two white horses. This was a common sight for wealthy residents and tourists in the late 19th century, as the sais would clear a path through the busy streets. The photograph is from the Zangaki brothers studio, who were active in Egypt during this period.
