White Terrace Lake Rotomahana New Zealand Geothermal Landscape Vtg. Photo 19thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows the magnificent White Terrace at Lake Rotomahana in New Zealand, with its cascading silica sinter deposits and steaming geothermal pools. Considered one of the great natural wonders of the world, the White and Pink Terraces were completely destroyed in the 1886 eruption of Mount Tarawera, making photographs like this a rare record of a lost landmark.
