Scarborough Promenade Pier North Yorkshire Seaside Resort Vtg. Photo 20thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows a high-angle view of the bustling Promenade Pier in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, with crowds of Victorians on the pier and cliffs. Numerous boats and a steamship are on the water, suggesting a festive event. Opened in 1869, this pier was a popular attraction but was destroyed by a gale in 1905 and never rebuilt, making this a rare view of the lost landmark.
