This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows two sailboats navigate the waters of the Bosphorus strait with the historic Rumelihisarı fortress in the background. Located on the European shore of Istanbul, Turkey, this medieval fortress was built by Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II in 1451-1452. It was constructed in preparation for the final siege of Constantinople and stands at the narrowest point of the Bosphorus.
