This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina in the Roman Forum. The image captures the unique structure, with the ancient Roman portico and the facade of the church of San Lorenzo in Miranda built atop it. The temple was originally erected in 141 AD by Emperor Antoninus Pius. It was converted into a Roman Catholic church in the Middle Ages, which preserved the classical portico from destruction.
