Ripon Cathedral River Gothic Architecture Footbridge England Vtg. Photo 19thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows a scenic view of Ripon Cathedral from across the River Skell. A simple wooden footbridge spans the water in the foreground, leading the eye towards the historic church. Founded by Saint Wilfrid in 672, the current Gothic structure dates mainly from the 12th and 13th centuries. It is one of the oldest church sites in England with a continuous history of Christian worship.
