Puente de Espana Bridge Manila Philippines River Arches Vtg. Photo 20thC.

This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows the Puente de España, or Bridge of Spain, crossing the Pasig River in Manila. The bridge connected the districts of Intramuros and Binondo. Originally a stone bridge built in the 17th century, it was reconstructed with central iron arches in the 1870s after being damaged by an earthquake. The historic bridge was destroyed during the Battle of Manila in 1945.
