Ottawa Parliament Buildings Canada River Logs Gothic Revival Vtg. Photo 19thC.

This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, Canada, are seen perched on a cliff overlooking the Ottawa River, which is filled with massive log rafts. During the 19th century, Ottawa was a major center of the Canadian timber trade, and logs were floated down the river to be processed at local sawmills. The Gothic Revival style buildings are a prominent national landmark and the seat of Canada's federal government.
