Mula-Mutha River Pune India Flooding Spate Man Landscape Vtg. Photo 19thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows a man crouches on rocks beside the Mula-Mutha river in Pune, India, which is shown in spate. The floodwaters rush over a causeway, partially submerging a tree and a lamppost in the background. The Mula-Mutha is a major river in Pune (formerly Poona) and has historically been prone to severe flooding during the monsoon season, a powerful natural event captured in this image.
