Mount Lavinia Hotel Sri Lanka Coastal View Colonial Vtg. Photo 19thC.

This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows the Mount Lavinia Hotel in what was then Ceylon (modern-day Sri Lanka), situated on a promontory overlooking the ocean. The building is a prime example of British colonial architecture. Originally the residence of Governor Sir Thomas Maitland in 1806, it was later converted into the grand hotel that stands as a historic landmark today.
