Messina Sicily Palazzata Waterfront Harbor Cityscape Fishing Vtg. Photo 19thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows the waterfront of Messina, Sicily, dominated by the magnificent, crescent-shaped Palazzata building. The Palazzata, or Teatro Marittimo, was the city's iconic harbor facade. This historic view captures the structure before it was completely destroyed in the catastrophic 1908 earthquake, which reshaped the city forever.
