Men Swimming Bathing Lake Arid Landscape Horseback Rider Vtg. Photo 19thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows several men are seen bathing in a body of water, likely the Dead Sea, known for its high salinity that allows for effortless floating. On the pebbly shore, another individual sits atop a horse. The Dead Sea, located in the Jordan Rift Valley, has attracted visitors for millennia. During the 19th century, it became a notable stop for travelers and pilgrims exploring the Holy Land, who documented their unique bathing experiences.
