Karnak Egypt Thutmose Obelisk Ancient Ruins Temple Hieroglyphs Vtg. Photo 19thC.

This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows two large obelisks standing amidst the extensive ruins of the Karnak Temple complex in Egypt. The obelisk in the foreground belongs to Pharaoh Thutmose I. Karnak was one of the most sacred and important religious sites in ancient Egypt, dedicated primarily to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. The complex was developed over approximately 2,000 years by successive generations of pharaohs, making it a vast open-air museum of Egyptian history.
