Hong Kong Woman Carrying Chair Porters Colonial Travel Vtg. Photo 20thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows a European woman is transported in a sedan or carrying chair by four barefoot porters along a road in Hong Kong. Sedan chairs were a primary mode of transport in the hilly terrain of colonial Hong Kong, particularly for residents of Victoria Peak, before the widespread use of trams and cars.
