HMS Black Prince Warrior Class Battleship Ironclad Warship Vtg. Photo 19thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows a side profile of the HMS Black Prince, a Warrior-class ironclad battleship, at anchor. The ship's three masts, extensive rigging, and gun ports are visible. Launched in 1861 for the Royal Navy, she and her sister ship HMS Warrior were the first ocean-going iron-hulled armoured frigates. Their revolutionary design marked a significant step in naval warfare technology, rendering wooden warships obsolete.
