Gateway Palace Amber India Mughal Architecture Courtyard Vtg. Photo 19thC.

This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows the ornate Ganesh Pol, or Ganesh Gate, at the Amber Palace in India, with several men resting in the courtyard. Amber, now part of Jaipur, was the capital of the Kachwaha clan until 1727. The palace is a renowned example of Rajput architecture, blending Mughal and Hindu styles, and this intricately decorated gateway provided access to the private palaces of the Maharajas.
