Climbing Mont Blanc Alps Mountaineers Glacier Crevasse Snow Vtg. Photo 19thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows three mountaineers roped together traverse a treacherous, snow-covered glacier in the Alps. The scene depicts an early ascent of Mont Blanc at "La Jonction," where the Bossons and Taconnaz glaciers meet. This area is a notoriously difficult and crevassed section of the classic route to the summit of the highest mountain in the Alps.
