Chinese Fishermen Traditional Fishing Net Bamboo Structure Vtg. Photo 19thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows two Chinese fishermen operate a large, stationary lift net from a bamboo and stone structure. This traditional fishing method, using what are known as Chinese fishing nets, has been practiced for centuries. The nets are lowered into the water from a fixed installation and then raised to catch fish, a common sight along coastal and riverine areas in parts of Asia.
