China Women Baby Wheelbarrow Family Portrait Transportation Vtg. Photo 19thC.
This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows a studio portrait from China shows two women and a baby sitting on a traditional single-wheeled wheelbarrow, held by a man. The man wears the queue hairstyle, which was mandatory for Han Chinese men during the Qing dynasty (1644–1912). The painted backdrop depicting a garden pavilion was a common feature in early photography studios to create an idealized setting for subjects.
