This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows the ancient stone archway, the Cloud Platform (Yuntai), at Nankou Pass in China. A rough, unpaved road passes through the intricately carved arch towards a small village. The Yuntai was originally the base for a pagoda built during the Yuan Dynasty in the 14th century. Though the pagoda is gone, the marble arch remains a significant historical structure.
