Caucasus Georgia Tiflis Men Fishing Raft River Fishermen Vtg. Photo 19thC.

This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows two men in traditional attire are on a primitive raft on a river, one holding a fishing net and the other a long pole. This scene is from the Caucasus region, likely near Tiflis (now Tbilisi), Georgia, a city historically situated on the Kura River. Fishing with such rafts, possibly made with inflated animal skins for buoyancy, was a traditional method in the region for centuries.
