This quality reprint of a vintage photo shows an elevated view of the spa town of Bad Ems, nestled in the Lahn River valley in Germany. The image highlights the town's grand riverside architecture and the surrounding forested hills. Bad Ems has been a famous spa since the 17th century and was a fashionable resort for European royalty. It is historically significant as the site of the 1870 Ems Dispatch, which precipitated the Franco-Prussian War.
